I know what you may be thinking. “Winter decor? Is this a thing?” I assure you it is. It also just so happens to be one of my many cures for the post-Christmas blues. When the holiday season ends, I tend to feel a little down. Does anyone else? One of the things I love about Christmas is the cheery contrast it plays against the grey overcast Michigan skies. Michigan can be a little, maybe a lot, drab during the Winter months. However, I realized that I don’t need to stop enjoying some of my current decor or adding new decor for the remaining months of Winter, because after all, it has only just begun.
The way I like to incorporate Winter into my home is by using lots of winter greenery. Cedar and Pine happen to be two of my favorites. Here are some examples of greenery I like to include:
I also love to play with cozy textures. Warm knits, soft sherpa and cozy flannel. I keep the colors neutral to help me transition away from Christmas and into the winter months. Here are some of my favorite examples below. Click each picture to shop an item.
Another great way to bring life into the home during the Winter months is with lots of light. I selected some of my favorite items to do just that. Click below to shop any of these items.
I also love to keep the kitchen updated with a cozy coffee/tea/hot cocoa station. I am not normally a hot drink kind of gal, but I do love a hot cocoa, cider, or tea after coming in from a fun snow day outside with Peter and Tyler. Here are some ways you can add some extra special attention to your coffee bar areas! Click below to shop any of these items.
I hope that this post helped to inspire you to continue to love your homes and make them cozy for the winter season. Stay warm my friends!
